Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 July 2026

1. Introduction

These are the terms of service for Monshi. By signing up for an account, you agree to them — so please take a few minutes to read them properly.

If you don't agree with something here, please don't sign up. If you're already a customer and something changes that you don't like, Section 15 explains your options.

We've written this ourselves, in plain English, not copied from a template. If anything is unclear or you just want to ask a question, email us — we're real people and we'll give you a real answer.

2. Who we are

Monshi is a product of Archii Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17285683 (incorporated 19 June 2026).

  • Registered office: 82A James Carter Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP28 7DE

  • Operating address: 104 Woodland Drive, Hove, BN3 6DE

  • Website: monshi.co.uk

Our founder, Armin Sheibani, runs Monshi day to day and is personally reachable for anything you need.

3. What Monshi does

Monshi is an AI receptionist for UK small businesses. When someone calls your business number, Monshi answers, has a conversation using AI, takes a message, and passes it on to you — so you don't miss calls when you're busy, on a job, or closed.

A few important things to understand about what Monshi is and isn't:

  • Monshi is not a replacement for emergency services. If a caller has a genuine emergency, they should always be directed to call 999. Monshi is not designed or intended to handle emergency calls, and you shouldn't rely on it to do so.

  • Monshi is not built for high-security or regulated call handling. It isn't designed to give legal advice, medical advice, handle safeguarding concerns, or manage any call type where a trained human is legally or professionally required. If your business has calls like this, they need a human, not Monshi.

  • Monshi uses artificial intelligence, which means it does its best but isn't perfect. Section 12 covers this in more detail.

You use Monshi at your own discretion, and it's your responsibility to decide whether it's the right fit for the kinds of calls your business receives.

4. Account signup

To sign up for Monshi, you confirm that:

  • You're 18 or older.

  • You're a legitimate UK business, or you're authorised to sign up on behalf of one (for example, as an employee, director, or contractor).

  • The information you give us at signup is accurate, and you'll keep it up to date — things like your business name, opening hours, and the FAQs your Monshi uses to answer calls.

  • You're responsible for what happens on your account. Right now, access to your tenant dashboard works via a private link (your tenant URL) rather than a username and password — anyone who has that link can open your dashboard. Please treat it like a password and don't share it publicly. This is a transitional setup: we're building proper login and password authentication for a future release, and this section will be updated once that ships.

We reserve the right to decline or refuse a signup. This applies in particular where we reasonably believe your intended use of Monshi falls outside our acceptable use policy (Section 8) — for example, if it looks like you intend to use Monshi for emergency response, regulated advice-giving, or something else Monshi isn't built for.

5. Your responsibilities as a tenant

If you sign up for Monshi, a few responsibilities sit with you as the business using it, not with us.

Caller notification. You agree to tell your own customers that calls to your business may be answered by an AI receptionist and may be recorded. You can do this through signage, your website, your voicemail greeting, or any other channel that's reasonable for your business. Monshi's AI also announces this itself at the start of every call — but we think both matter: your own disclosure means your customers aren't caught by surprise even before they dial, and the in-call announcement gives clear notice in the moment. Together, this is our belt-and-braces approach, and it protects both you and us.

Content of your AI's responses. You configure the FAQs, business information, and instructions Monshi uses to answer calls. You're responsible for making sure what you've told Monshi to say is accurate. If your Monshi gives a caller the wrong opening hours because you entered the wrong hours, that's on you, not us — please review and keep your settings up to date.

Compliance with UK law. Your use of Monshi must comply with all applicable UK law. This includes (without limitation) UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 for how you and your callers' data is handled, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) if you use Monshi in connection with any marketing calls, and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for whatever promises you make to your own customers through your Monshi.

Fair use of the service. You agree not to:

  • try to overload, flood, or abuse your phone number or the service;

  • use Monshi to make outbound spam or unsolicited marketing calls;

  • use Monshi to impersonate another person or business; or

  • otherwise use the service in a way that could damage, disable, or overburden it, or interfere with other tenants' use of it.

6. Pricing & payment

We're currently in early access. Monshi is free to use during this beta phase — we're not taking payments yet. Paid plans are coming later this year, and this section describes how billing will work once they launch.

Pricing tiers (when paid plans go live):

PlanPriceMinutes includedStarter£79/month300 minutesGrowth£199/month1,000 minutesPro£399/month2,500 minutes

  • Billing will be monthly, in advance.

  • Overage: if you go over your plan's minute allowance, we'll bill overage at a per-minute rate we'll confirm before paid plans launch. We'll tell you when you're approaching your limit — we won't cut you off or bill you silently.

  • Cancellation: you can cancel any time. Your service continues until the end of your current paid period, and we don't offer refunds for partial months.

  • Price changes: if we change our prices, we'll give active tenants at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price applies.

None of this applies yet — while you're on early access, you pay nothing, and nothing above is currently in effect.

7. Refunds

During early access: Monshi is free, so there's nothing to refund.

Once paid plans launch: we'll offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first month. If you're not happy within your first 14 days on a paid plan, email us and we'll refund that month in full. After the first 14 days, we don't offer refunds for that billing period, though you can still cancel going forward (Section 6).

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Monshi for any of the following:

  • Anything illegal under UK law.

  • Harassing, threatening, or abusive calls or content.

  • Impersonating another person, business, or organisation.

  • Spam, robocalls, or unsolicited marketing calls.

  • Attempting to circumvent, disable, reverse-engineer, or overload our systems.

  • Handling calls that require regulated, licensed, or safety-critical human judgement — including emergency response (999-adjacent situations), mental health crises, safeguarding concerns, or giving medical or legal advice.

  • Using Monshi as your primary way of handling calls from children. General call reception where a child might occasionally call in — for example, a family-run salon or shop — is fine. Monshi being marketed to, or used specifically to interact with, children as a primary use case is not.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach this policy — see Section 14 for how that works.

9. Uptime and service quality

We aim for 99.5% uptime, but we don't guarantee it. Monshi is a small, fast-growing company, and while we take availability seriously, we can't promise perfection.

Monshi depends on several third-party services to work — including Retell, Telnyx, OpenAI, Vercel, and Supabase. If any of these have an outage, it can affect Monshi's availability. We monitor these dependencies and respond as quickly as we can, but we can't guarantee they'll never go down.

Planned maintenance: where we can, we'll let you know in advance if we need to take the service down for maintenance.

Service credits: if a critical outage affects your account for more than 24 continuous hours in a month where you're on a paid plan, we'll credit you for the affected days against your next invoice.

10. Data & privacy

How we collect, use, and protect personal data — yours and your callers' — is covered in full in our Privacy Policy. By using Monshi, you also agree to that policy. If there's ever a conflict between these terms and the Privacy Policy on a data protection point, the Privacy Policy takes precedence.

11. Intellectual property

Monshi is ours. The Monshi platform, brand, software, and the AI configurations and infrastructure we've built to run the service belong to Archii Ltd. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of that to you.

Your content is yours. The business information, FAQs, and prompts you write and configure in Monshi remain your property. We don't claim ownership over them.

The licence you give us. By adding your content to Monshi, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and use that content — solely for the purpose of running and delivering the service to you. We don't use your business content for anything else, and we don't license it to third parties beyond what's needed to run Monshi (see our sub-processor list in the Privacy Policy).

Call recordings and transcripts. These belong to you, as the data controller for your callers (see the Privacy Policy for what that means). We process them on your behalf and on your instructions, as your data processor.

12. AI-generated content disclaimer

Monshi's AI does a good job most of the time, but it's still AI — it can occasionally get things wrong. It might quote the wrong opening hours, misunderstand what a caller is asking for, or give an odd or unhelpful response.

We work hard to minimise this, and we're always improving the underlying models and prompts. But we can't guarantee 100% accuracy, and we don't promise that Monshi's AI will always respond correctly.

You should review your call transcripts regularly and fix anything in your settings that's leading to wrong answers. You're accountable for how your Monshi represents your business — we're not liable for decisions a caller makes based on something Monshi's AI told them.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that can't legally be excluded or limited under UK law — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or liability for fraud.

Subject to that:

  • Our maximum liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the total amount you've paid us in that period, or £100 if you're on our free/early-access plan and haven't paid us anything.

  • We're not liable for indirect losses — including lost profits, lost business, or lost opportunities — even if we've been told they might happen.

  • We're not liable for the actions, errors, or downtime of third-party services we integrate with (such as Retell, Telnyx, OpenAI, Vercel, or Supabase), beyond what we've specifically committed to in Section 9.

14. Termination

Your right to cancel. You can cancel your account at any time, either from the tenant portal or by emailing support@monshi.co.uk.

Our right to suspend or terminate. We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach our acceptable use policy (Section 8) or fail to pay when payments are due. Where reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to put things right first. For serious breaches — for example, illegal activity or abuse of the service — we reserve the right to suspend your account immediately, without prior notice.

What happens when your account ends. You'll have 90 days from the end of your account to export your data. After that, we'll delete it in line with the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Monshi grows and the product changes.

  • Material changes — anything that meaningfully changes your rights or obligations — we'll email active tenants at least 30 days before the change takes effect.

  • Non-material changes — typo fixes, clarifications, formatting — we'll just update this page.

If you don't agree with a material change, you have the right to cancel your account before it takes effect.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Monshi can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. This is non-exclusive jurisdiction — so if you're based outside the UK, you're not required to bring a claim here, but we are entitled to.
